Did You Know?: The Power Of The Pope And That Peter Was The First Pope?

* The new Catholic Catechism reads: “The task of interpreting the Word of God authentically has been entrusted solely to the Magisterium of the Church, that is, to the Pope and the bishops in communion with him.”

As a Roman Catholic Pope follower, you are not allowed to interpret scripture! And from what I have read is that in the entire history of the Roman Catholic Church as little as eleven verses have been translated. This number could be a bit higher or lower.

Peter is recognized as the first Pope in Roman Catholic Dogma. However, Paul, John, Jude, or James in the epistles never refer to Peter as a Pope.
Conversely, Peter in his first epistle clearly says the opposite!

1 Peter 5: 1-2 (NASB) Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed, 2 shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness;

He speaks as an elder, not as Pope.

Paul writes the order in structure of the Church in 1 Corinthians 12: 27-28 (NASB),

27 Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it. 28 And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues.

No mention of a Pope there either.

Am I Wrong About Macroevolution?

Yes, there has been some feathers ruffled by some of my last statements about the fraud called “Macro-Evolution” I honestly believe that if you think we as the human race et al. “evolved” from apes, then you need to be re-educated. I know that it sounds crazy, but you have likely been indoctrinated into secularism. You will not care as you do not have to be accountable as your post-modernism will state that “it is okay as long as you think it is okay and who am I to say you are wrong?” You are brainwashed! Please give me my airsick bag! BTW There is not one stitch of evidence confirming “one kind” evolving into “another kind” so Charlie D was wrong!

A great book to read would be 1984~ George Orwell!

Terminology Tuesday: Immaculate Conception

* The Roman Catholic teaching that Mary the mother of Jesus was supernaturally prevented from being tainted by original sin so that she could give birth to Jesus as God’s own Son. The teaching was first suggested by the theologian Duns Scotus in the thirteenth century and declared to official Roman Catholic Dogma (authoritative teaching) by Pope Pius IX in 1854

*Stanley J. Grenz, David Guretzki & Cherith Fee Nordling, Pocket Dictionary of Theological Terms (Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 1999), p. 63

Mary was a sinful person just as we all are! Nowhere in the Bible does it say anything about her remaining sinless.

The MacArthur Study Bible Rocks!

I have never been blown away so much as when I read the MacArthur Study Bible! I totally recommend this NASB Bible translation. Mr. John MacArthur is truly a man of God. I suggest you subscribe to Mr. MacArthur’s youtube channel etc. The meat of this Bible is the exegesis that MacArthur describes.

If you think, there is a contradiction in scripture? Read The MacArthur Study Bible!

What Is The Deal With Snake Handling?

Mark 16: 17-18 (NASB) Reads:

17 These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

We have likely all seen the snake handling Pastors and Ministers usually in the Southern United States handling poisonous snakes, but scripturally is it correct?

It was actually in the year 1910, a man named George Went Hensley that introduced to churches in the Appalachian region, the handling of snakes. Many have thought that the scripture above was not original, but more of the church did view it as authority. And so it was interpreted as literal scripture, certain Christians obeyed the order to “pick up serpents.”

Acts 28: 1-6 (NASB) reads that the Apostle Paul although bitten by a poisonous viper he was indeed protected:

When they had been brought safely through, then we found out that the island was called Malta. 2 The natives showed us extraordinary kindness; for because of the rain that had set in and because of the cold, they kindled a fire and received us all. 3 But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened itself on his hand. 4 When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they began saying to one another, “Undoubtedly this man is a murderer, and though he has been saved from the sea, justice has not allowed him to live.” 5 However, he shook the creature off into the fire and suffered no harm.6 But they were expecting that he was about to swell up or suddenly fall dead. But after they had waited a long time and had seen nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and began to say that he was a god.

Some Pastors have not only been bitten once but several times. Some die, so are those, not true believers?
