Is Kissing The Pope’s Feet Biblical?

Actually no it is forbidden in the Bible! It was a pagan custom to kiss the feet of emperors!

Acts 10: 25-26 (NASB)
25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am just a man.”

Rev 22: 8-9 (ESV)
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, 9 but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”

Please pray for the Roman Catholic.

The Roman Catholic Church: Ten Commandments Distortion!

This is what the Roman Catholic Church states is the “Ten Commandments”…check this out.

1. I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me.
2. You shall not take the name of the Lord God in vain
3. Remember to keep holy the Lord’s Day
4. Honor your father and your mother
5. You shall not kill
6. You shall not commit adultery
7. You shall not steal
8. You shall not bear false witness
9. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife
10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods

Notice the hocus pokus?

Let us now look at the actual Ten Commandments with emphasis on the NASB.

EXODUS 20: 3-11 (NASB)

1. “You shall have no other gods before Me.

2. “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing loving kindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

3. “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

4. “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you.11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.

5. “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you.

6. “You shall not murder.

7. “You shall not commit adultery.

8. “You shall not steal.

9. “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10. “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Now the biggest difference if you missed it is the second commandment. There is really nothing surprising here at all. If the Roman Catholic Church really took God’s commandments seriously it would use the real commandments, however they would not be able to have ALL THE IDOLS they currently use! I know many Roman Catholics that have Jesus STILL ON THE CROSS! The Roman Catholics also use Mary as an idol. I will do an article soon on that again.

The Roman Catholic Church is simply EVIL. I will also say for the record that there are Christians within the RC Church, The EVIL is within the Churches leadership.

Roman Catholic Indulgences: Heresy

Since Pope Francis has not moved from the medieval times on the stance of indulgences, I thought a clear definition of what they are would be helpful. I would just plead to the pope to please scrape some of the gold on the ceilings that was put up there due to the indulgences and maybe feed the poor?

*A practice of the medieval Roman Catholic Church that suggested that financial contributions to the church could ensure that a person who had died could be released from purgatory (the place of torment) into heavenly bliss. Indulgences, among other practices, prompted Martin Luther to question the scriptural basis for many teachings of the medieval Roman Catholic Church. This in turn led to the Protestant Reformation and Luther’s emphasis on a person being declared righteous on the basis of faith in Christ alone without reference to meritorious human works of any kind.

Pope Francis Strikes Again!

Vatican offers ‘time off purgatory’ to followers of Pope Francis tweets
Papal court handling pardons for sins says contrite Catholics may win ‘indulgences’ by following World Youth Day on Twitter:

Article from the Guardian:

In its latest attempt to keep up with the times the Vatican has married one of its oldest traditions to the world of social media by offering “indulgences” to followers of Pope Francis’ tweets.

The church’s granted indulgences reduce the time Catholics believe they will have to spend in purgatory after they have confessed and been absolved of their sins.

The remissions got a bad name in the Middle Ages because unscrupulous churchmen sold them for large sums of money. But now indulgences are being applied to the 21st century.

But a senior Vatican official warned web-surfing Catholics that indulgences still required a dose of old-fashioned faith, and that paradise was not just a few mouse clicks away.

“You can’t obtain indulgences like getting a coffee from a vending machine,” Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli, head of the pontifical council for social communication, told the Italian daily Corriere della Sera.

Indulgences these days are granted to those who carry out certain tasks – such as climbing the Sacred Steps, in Rome (reportedly brought from Pontius Pilate’s house after Jesus scaled them before his crucifixion), a feat that earns believers seven years off purgatory.

But attendance at events such as the Catholic World Youth Day, in Rio de Janeiro, a week-long event starting on 22 July, can also win an indulgence.

Mindful of the faithful who cannot afford to fly to Brazil, the Vatican’s sacred apostolic penitentiary, a court which handles the forgiveness of sins, has also extended the privilege to those following the “rites and pious exercises” of the event on television, radio and through social media.

“That includes following Twitter,” said a source at the penitentiary, referring to Pope Francis’ Twitter account, which has gathered seven million followers. “But you must be following the events live. It is not as if you can get an indulgence by chatting on the internet.”

In its decree, the penitentiary said that getting an indulgence would hinge on the beneficiary having previously confessed and being “truly penitent and contrite”.

Praying while following events in Rio online would need to be carried out with “requisite devotion”, it suggested.

Apart from the papal Twitter account, the Vatican has launched an online news portal supported by an app, a Facebook page, and it plans to use the online social networking site Pinterest.

“What really counts is that the tweets the Pope sends from Brazil or the photos of the Catholic World Youth Day that go up on Pinterest produce authentic spiritual fruit in the hearts of everyone,” said Celli.

To all my Roman Catholic Friends…REPENT! Interestingly enough there is NO SCRIPTURE of purgatory! Show me this! What heresy!

Pope Francis Said What?

I was reading an article today from the Huffington Post and it was Pope Francis saying that “Atheists Who Do Good Are Redeemed, Not Just Catholics.” Referring to a recent sermon, everyone is saved. This is one step away from universalism but two steps into heresy!

By “Good” according to Roman Catholic dogma, he is speaking of “Good Works”. “Works” based Salvation is not biblical. Not to mention that not believing in God is obviously not biblical. Even Satan believes in God and we know where he and his fallen angels are heading at Judgment Day and it certainly will not be heaven! James 2:19 (NASB)

19 You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.

This kind of ridiculous statement makes me wonder what Stalin’s role will be in Heaven? Maybe he will be heading up the tea and social club for young anarchists and God-Haters? Maybe he did “good” in the eyes of his regime? But what does the actual Holy Bible say about this nonsense? As a Christian I go by the Word, not by perpetrated lies.

Again a reminder to anyone that wants to die on the hill of works based Salvation read Galatians 2: 16 (NASB95):

16 nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified.

It is actual grace, a gift from God that is necessary for salvation. It is a faith, a faith in Christ’s work on the cross so that we are justified by faith alone in Christ’s work alone. Read Romans 4: 5-6:

5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,
6 just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

Just read the book of Galatians and see if the Pope’s ear-tickling words of nonsense weighs up to the truth of God? Beware of false teachings. Matthew 24:24 (NASB95)

24 “For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.

I ask fellow believers of Jesus and His Word to pray that the Holy Spirit comes over the Roman Catholic “Pope Followers” to see the true Gospel. Maybe a statement as stupid as this one by Pope Francis may pry open the eyelids of truth and reason.

Why We Should Not Rejoice in the New Pope!

Perhaps before we rejoice on the “election” of a new pope we should take in consideration what the Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 1: 6-17

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

11 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. 12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

13 For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14 I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being. 17 I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus.

Rome does not preach the correct Gospel. It is a false Gospel teaching us we cannot be saved without “works”! This denies what God is telling us. We are saved by “Grace”.

Apparently Galatians and Romans were written as filler? Do you think the Gospel is pared down to two sentences? We must read the scriptures in their entirety.

Got it off my chest! However I cannot stress this enough…WE MUST PRAY FOR THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH TO REPENT! I am certain that most people reading this will say I am coming across as judgmental and divisive, and I would suggest that I am. I do not want to see a stream of Roman Catholic followers going to hell. How “unloving” would that be? AMEN!

God Bless
